The Department of Mathematics teaches UG and PG courses. Six faculty members of our department are guiding the students for the award of Doctoral degree. The Department has a well-established research centre recognized by VTU. So far 48 candidates have received their Doctoral degree awards from VTU and 05 candidates have received their Doctoral degree from Central and Private Universities. The Department has an excellent record of 353 publications in major refereed International Journals that includes Scopus and Web of Science journals. Also, more than 200 papers have been presented in National and International conferences and obtained the best paper presentation award from VGST, Govt. of Karnataka twice during 2011-12 and 2017-18. Department faculty members have been conferred various research awards like the Innovative research award by the World Research Council in the year 2020, the Indian Glory Award for Best Mathematics Professor for the year 2021 by IGAC, National best researcher award 2021 by IMRF India. External funding of Rs.7.0 Lakhs has been received for two projects, one from VTU and other from VGST. The department has also received the approval for a project of Rs.5 lakhs during the year 2021-22 by the institution.
