Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Dr.Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. The department was established in the year 1987. It presently offers B.E., M.Tech. and Ph.D. degree programmes.
The department attracts talented students from all over India and abroad. The department has a vibrant student body numbering around 800 and faculty numbering nearly 36. Postgraduate students and Ph.D. scholars are supported by TEQIP, Government of India scholarships and research projects.
The department is actively engaged in research activities in various research areas and has been funded by several Government organizations such as the Department of Science & Technology (DST), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Vision Group on Science and Technology (VGST).
The CSE department's many strengths include its high faculty-to-student ratio, state-of-the-art facilities, renowned faculty, strong focus on undergraduate education balanced with leading-edge research, and emphasis on leadership, service, and ethics. Many Ph.D. graduates are serving as faculty members in reputed educational institutions in India.
Students have been recently placed, both in India and abroad, in several leading national and international companies.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is envisioned to have global excellence in teaching IT and moulding the overall personality of graduates through an expertise teaching and research environment so as to serve the society.
PEO1: To facilitate graduates to acquire principles of Computer Engineering, Mathematics and Science, so as to analyze real world problem and propose solutions that are economically feasible and socially acceptable.
PEO2: To imbibe students’ the knowledge with respect to architectural viewpoints, programming skills, modeling and designing software solutions, and make them technically competent to compete globally with confidence.
PEO3: To output graduates who exhibit's teamwork with professional ethics, effective communication skills and adapt to current trends to work in IT environment and/or pursue higher education.
PEO4: To promote new age learning and also create research ambience to assist students in nurturing their skill set and blooming their interests towards continuous learning.
