The department is headed by Dr.N.Mohan,  Professor, who has specialized in the area of Manufacturing, Industrial Tribology and Composite Materials. He completed B.E in Mechanical Engineering from UVCE, Bangalore in the year 1994, M.E in Manufacturing Science and Engineering from UVCE, Bangalore  in the year 2001, and a Ph.D. from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, (NITT-T) in the year 2011.
He has been Industry & teaching profession since 1995 and 18 years of Teaching and 9  year of Industry and Research experience in National Aerospace Laboratory(CSIR) , Aeronautical Development Agency (Ministry of Defence), Bangalore  and FyYu Mfg. Ltd, Singapore.  He has published papers in refereed International Journals/Conferences (Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis, Wiely and IOP.etc.)    and editorial board member and reviewer for various journals. He also served as a BOS/BOE Chairman/Member for various Universities. He is a Life Member of ISTE, MIE and IIE.
Four of his students have been awarded Ph.D. degrees under his guidance and currently he is guiding three Ph.D & MS students. His areas of research include Design, Fabrication, Characterization and Testing of Advanced Composite Materials. He is involved  Development of innovative composite products for the applications of different industrial sectors. He Develop the national and international industrial linkage in research, student project and consultancy work. Participating as a keynote address speaker/ resource person / invited speaker for various programs and received best technical paper award from various national and international conferences and 456 Citations and 11-H index and 14- I10 Index.
