The chief guest was Mr Mohan Rudrappa, the Alumni who is currently working as Senior Lead Engineer, Qualcomm Technologies. The students from all the branches participated in various activities like Project exhibition, Technical Treasure Hunt, Technical fun games, fast typing competition, Circuit debugging challenge. Technovate 2k24 was not merely a fest; it was a celebration of innovation, collaboration, and excellence—a testament to the indomitable spirit of the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department. |
2. | 2022-2023 | Technical Event titled"TECHNOVATE-2023" by all semester students of ETE Department on 27.06.2022 & 28.06.2023.The Chief guests were Mrs Indu and Vinod Kumar, TCS.
The following were the technical events conducted: 1.Project exhibition. 2.Fast typing. 3.Circuit debugging. 4.Technical quiz. 5.Hackathon. 6.Treasure hunt 7.Technical debate 8.Code debugging Students from various department actively participated in the events and got benefitted. |

The following were the technical events conducted: 1.Fast typing. 2.Project exhibition. 3.Hackathon. 4.Technical quiz. 5circuit debugging. 6.Treasure hunt 7.Technical debate Students from various department actively participated in the events and got benefitted. |
4. | 2021-2022 | A webinar on “ Cyber attack surface reduction using Docker ” was conducted by the Department on 23.07.2021 at 11.00AM – 12.30PM. Mr. Kirthi Prakash, Senior Software Engineer, Qlik India Pvt. Ltd., was the resource person. Mr. Kirthi Prakash is an Alumnus of Telecommunication Engineering department, Dr AIT, 2009 graduate batch. He has done M.Tech. in Information Technology from IIIT-B. He is Senior Full Stack Developer with expertise in Enterprise Software, Cloud Security, Health Care and Automotive domain. Target audience for the webinar were faculty & students of various Engineering disciplines. Webinar was attended by 107 participants. In this webinar various types of modern cyber attacks and the corresponding mitigation techniques were explained by the resource person. The techniques used to analyze and detect vulnerable workloads using vulnerability scanning, deep packet inspection and compliance frameworks were discussed. It also focused how containerizing workloads (using Docker) results in mitigating cyber attacks. |

1. | 2024-2025 | On account of National Space Day(27/08/2024), the department had organized industry visit to ISTRAC for 25 students and 1 faculty member. The experts detailed about the importance of National Space Day, Chandrayan mission, unmanned rockets, Aditya L1 mission followed by question and answer session. ISTRAC people felicitated topper of the quiz, Ms. Gunashree S of the 4th semester. |
2. | 2023-2024 | The department organised Industry visit to ISTRAC on 17-05-2024.Totally 57 students from 6th semester along with 4 faculty members visited the industry. The team of Experts from ISTRAC explained about antennas, satellite operation and Chandrayan. The students learnt about different types of Rockets, applications of satellites and the main objective of this visit is to get the knowledge about the satellite communication and antenna operations. Students visited Antenna Centre and saw the working of different types and sizes of antenna’s, gained knowledge about radiation pattern and power. Students had interaction with ISTRAC team and discussed about NAVIC (Indian GPS), ongoing projects, internships, and career opportunities at ISTRAC. |

1. | 2023-2024 | The department organized Virtual Lab Training with Hands-on Session on “Basic Electronics & Digital Circuits” on 14th February 2024 for third semester students in 3 batches. There were 53 students who participated in the training sessions. |
2. | 2023-2024 | The department conducted Skill Development Program for 2 nd semester students. The IoT Workshop, held from May 6th to May 14th, 2024, aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of Internet of Things (IoT) concepts and hands-on experience in related technologies. The workshop comprised six days of sessions, covering topics ranging from basic introductions to advanced programming and communication protocols. |
3. | 2022-2023 | ISTE Sponsored technical talk for students titled “Integrated Optic Micro Ring Resonator for Sensing Applications" on 27th January 2023. The resource person was Dr.Malathi S, from Ramaiah University for Applied Science, Head- Photonics Research Center, for this technical talk. Dr Malathi. S is an Associate Professor, Head -Photonics Research Center at the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Ramaiah University for Applied Science. She has an Experience of 30 years , her research area and interest include Advanced Digital Communication, Mobile Communication, Optoelectronics and Optical communication, Research Methodology, Optical Communication, Solid state devices and Microwave Engineering. She is Awarded a student scholarship by SPIE — International Society for Optics and Photonics US (2008), she also received the Professor Selvarajan grant for international travel from the Indian Institute of Science in the same year. She completed her PhD degree from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (2012). She is a thesis Advisor for undergraduate, postgraduate (MS) and PhD students. She has been the Chairperson of the IISc- IEEE student branch in 2008, an Executive Committee member, IEEE Photonics Society (2013 – 2018) and its Chair- Elect (2020) for the Bangalore section. Target audience for the seminar were faculty & students of various Engineering disciplines. Seminar was attended by 100 participants. Seminar outcome: 1.Awareness of the recent trends in the Optical Sensor Domain that helps in research work. |
4. | 2022-2023 | A Webinar on “Introduction to Virtual Labs” was organized on 10th March, 2023 at 10 am in Dr.Ambedkar Institute of Technology , Bengaluru in a Hybrid Mode. There were 639 online registrations of Faculty and Students for the Webinar. Three Seminar halls with Audio and Video were arranged for students of various branches to attend. Rest all the participants joined online. We had two speakers Dr. Kantesh Balani, Principal Investigator and Professor, Dept. of Material Science & Engineering, IIT Kanpur and Miss Sheetal Singh, Senior Project Associate from IIT Kanpur. Webinar started with welcome address followed by Introduction of speakers by Dr. Vidya Honguntikar, Associate Professor, Dept. Of ETE and Nodal Centre Coordinator for Virtual Labs, Dr. Ambedkar Institute of Technology, Bengaluru. The first speaker Dr. Kantesh Balani presented in detail the importance and ease of conducting Virtual Labs online, an initiative of the Ministry of Education under the National Mission on Education through ICT. He also encouraged the faculty and students to use Virtual labs to its fullest potential and assured assistance in hosting the Lectures or Workshops without any financial support. Later Miss Sheetal Singh explained in detail the usage of virtual lab and its benefits. She also presented Demonstration of various experiments. Some of the queries were also answered. We received positive feedback from the participants. Webinar concluded by presenting Vote of Thanks by Mrs Kavitha Narayan, Assistant Professor, Dept. of ETE,Dr AIT. |
5. | 2020-2021 | Industry expert Mr Ajay, Senior Software Engineer, CISCO Systems India Pvt Ltd., Bangalore engaged 12 classes of the subject Fundamentals of Telecommunications and helped the students in understanding the subject from Industrial perspective. |
